Almost everything on the news, or in the papers in negative and depressing, so if we turn it off, then it stops becoming a factor in our life. You can listen and read about all the sad stories and news but in reality there is nothing that you can do about them, so why worry about it.

Talk to your parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents to find out if anyone else is suffering from something similar. If it turns out that they do you can ask them what they have used to combat it. Often they will have the same type of depression as you and be able to help you.

Music can be very helpful to those who suffer from depression, but you should be cautious when choosing the type of music. Don’t listen to music that makes you sad or pensive. That music will only make you dwell on your sad feelings and could exaggerate them.
